Christmas At The Easy Does It Club

Here is my question to the world- Since when did I really care about others needs?
The annual Christmas party at the Easy Does It Club this year was quite an emotional time for me. ( Yeah, I'm wearing my emotions on my sleeve, so what!)
Seeing all those kids, well over the fifty we expected, going up to Santa C. (remember the 12th tradition) was really a moment of clarity for me this year.
Just watching the faces of the children and smiles on their faces was worth every moment spent at the club. I even had one adult come up and thank all involved for being there for the 'children of recovery'. Believe it or not, I was totally speechless and had to wipe a tear of joy from my eyes.
To me, this is one of the most rewarding events we get involved in every year.
For each child that remained for the evening, there were two toys for each of them.
We would like to thank EDI for including the 3T in their Christmas activities this year. With their generous donation and the donations of others, this party topped all the previous years Christmas events.
Going back to my original question, I have cared for others for quite awhile now, but the reality of how important the 'children of recovery' are has escaped me for many years. I will remember this years Christmas party for the kids as another milestone in my personal recovery.
Time for me to shut up (when isn't it!) so you can go take a gander at all of this years photos.
