December 2, 2007 10:00 AM.
GRUMBLE, GRRRRR.............4 FREAKIN MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AM, and here I am at Dunkin Donuts on 10th Ave. gettin coffee. Well at least its for a really great cause.
We met at Easy Does It Club right after that time. We had almost everybody attend and looked like a real pack of motorcycles going down the road. We had two members meet us at the park.
Ya know, I think I just figured out what writers block is all about.
(20 minutes later).........We directed the usual 35,000 motorcycles into the park and only had about 5 A-Holes confront us (one in a cage out on the road).
One thing I do need to mention though is the weather. Usually its pretty chilly the day of this run, but this year we were able to ride down in shortsleeves. Later in the day it got downright sweaty hot, (coulda' been just me with all the hotttttt ladies!!)
We left the Pompano Harness Track right at 10:00 AM and attempted to go to the park via 595, but the BSO had different ideas and redirected us to the backroad route.
We eventually made it to the park as we weren't really sure where we were going.
We stayed quite a while, listened to the band, ate some really good food, and enjoyed the sites and sounds that go with The SFPC Toys In The Sun Run.
Had all the usual trimmings over at Markham Park, food, vendors, and really loud music.(did I mention all the hot ladies?)
As usual, there were semi-truck loads of toys donated. Once again, the generosity of the biker community in South Florida has come through for the holidays.
If you missed this event, you might want to make plans to attend next years event. So far the SFPC has donated enough money to have a complete wing built at the Joe Dimaggio Childrens Hospital!

A little story I heard-There was one Harley with a rider with no colors attempting to ge ahead of the designated club riders pack that was at the front of the motorcyle pack for the ride to Markham Park, He was asked to leave, he did, but a couple of minutes later, he showed up again. When confronted again, he removed his helmet and lo and behold, it was Phil Peterson (of Miami Harley for the uneducated). Oooppps, sorry Phil!
