Up North in the Woods

OK, now this is scary!
Barefoot, The Butcher, Sparky, and myself all together out in the middle of freakin' nowheresville Florida.
Being the badass bikers we are, we left around noon in the 'fuchsmobile' (big ol' 4 door dually) towing the Fuchs Motel, not a motorcycle in site anywhere.
On the trip up to nowheresville, Butcher Dave made believers out of the rest of us, gasmasks not included.
We only had to stop 3 or 4 times, guess thats not bad for a couple of 'mature' (old) guys. Good thing there weren't any motorcycle riders that day.
Upon arrival at the Ginnie Springs Campground, henceforth known as Camp Manly Man in High Springs, Fl., we proceeded to set up camp, then went into town to grab the required vittles for the 4.5 days we would be there. Between Barefoot and Butcher Dave, the cooking was taken care of for the trip. Sparky and myself took turn doing dishes. ( I had to learn how to do that since I didn't have the dog to lick the plates clean). That evening, Butcher Dave declared himself 'firemaster' (methinks pyromaniac!) and proceeded to burn every twig in sight.
On Friday, after a hearty breakfast prepared by Barefoot, we pillaged and plundered the campground, taking in all the sites of nature. Ok, well they did, I found a volleyball game in progress and tried out my new lens on the young college girls and guys (ok, the girls). Lens report: works really good!
That night Barefoot prepared another one of his scrumptious meals of pork chops that Butcher had marinated since the night before, nuff said.
The different springs that are in the campgroun vary in size, but one has caverns large enough to fit a couple of 747 aircraft. Ginnie Springs is only one of two locations in the country where Cave Diving Certifications are available. (not for me, too claustrophobic). The water temperature remains at 72 degrees year around.
Saturday, Barefoot once again prepared a great breakfast, although our spirits were quite dampened as we had just received word of brother Sluts' passing on. It stays with me yet today.
Back to the trip, the early AM was spent in the nearby town of High Springs, your typical small town. We perused an old antique mall while there and I took some decent photos of the railroad tracks, didn't I Barefoot!
That evening, Buthcer Dave prepared shish-ka-bob on the outside grill using real wood (make fire, hehe). He can cook for me anytime!
The next morning we arose at the ungodly hour of 5 AM (I didn't know clocks had that early of a time on them) and proceeded to the Gainesville Raceway for the Gatornationals**
It was a little bit too crowded for me in the stands, although the seats Sparky had reserved were in a perfect spot for watching the races. This was the first time in my feeble memory that I had HEARD Top Fuel cars, wheedogeee, dey is louder than a lowrider on a Saturday night in Miami Beach!
We spent about 7 hours at the track and were pretty exhausted when we got back to the campground
We left early Monday morning so we could get back to our families, pets, and other loved ones in our lives. It was a really memorable trip, we all had a great time with the food, fellowship, and brotherhood. Who said ya can't have fun without a motorcycle! ( I did not say that, did I?)
Camp Manly Man over and out.........
