| LAKE WORTH. FL (OCT 9, 2010) The Treatment Center of the Palm Beaches again this year invited us to cook the pork for their second annual Octoberfest. That being said, the club turned out in force, letting another part of the recovery community know that you can ride motorcycles and remain clean and sober. Over the years there has been much disdain and mistruths about 'bikers'. This was all brought on by all those b rated movies about motorcycle 'gangs' during the 50's, 60's, and even the 70's(well if that doesn't date me, nothing will!). Anyhow, enough of that rant. Keeping it simple, we carry the 12 step message to whoever wants it. The festivities began around 7 am for us, setting up the cooker and cuttin' the pigs, as seen on the video. |  |
| Throughout the day, various members of the club came and went, but our biggest thanks go out to Clint and Pete, and yeah, you too Scotty. Their total dedication to assisting The Third Tradition at our events is unparralled over the many years they have been helping us out. Of course, the staff of The Treatment Center also went out of the way to make our task easier. While the pigs were cooking, a few of us played horseshoes and a few of the Third Tradition Kids patches enjoyed the 40 foot water slide and the dunk tank. Staff members Tony, Marcie, Mongo, and yes, even the CEO Bill were voluntold to get wet for the cause. | |
