Third Tradition Christmas Wishes 2011 |
Santa Toy Distribution |
| WPB. FL (DEC 18, 2011) This event has been a work in progress since the Labor Day picnic. It all began with the planning of the Spaghetti Dinner/Dance that was held at Easy Does It Club. What a dance it was as it had to be a record crowd this year. There were groups of people out front, out back and the dance floor was shoulder to shoulder. It seemed everyone was in the Christmas spirit this year. Once again, brother Ghost was the DJ and rocked EDI all night long. All monies made that night were put into a special shopping fund for the kids. | ![]() |
| The story continued as on the Saturday before Santa's arrival at EDI, the club and some friends got together and had a wrapping party. When it seemed all the wrapping was finished, it was time to go shopping for more toys. At the store, we separated into teams, were given a list to fill, and promptly began to terrorize the store. What else could ya expect from a bunch of sober bikers. When the shopping was complete, and without direction from the Road Captain, we took our 8 carts and got in line. Of course, the wrong line! However, when the store manager saw how many carts we had, another lane was made available to us. After checkout, it was back to the wrapping party. |  |

| The culmination of all the preceding events came to fruition on Sunday, the 18th of December. Around 1:00 PM, the children and their parents began to arrive. Just about 1:30 PM, with Harley leading the kids in some 'magic' Christmas songs, lo and behold, the sound of motorcycles broke loudly over the singing, and what to their wondering eyes did appear, but a trike with a jolly old guy and his roaring reindeer! | ![]() |
| Throughout the rest of the afternoon, the true meaning of Christmas was being displayed. Although the majority of the gifts cost no more than 10 bucks, the childrens' eyes were all aglow with the gifts they received. On one accasion, even I almost got a little teary eyed as an adorable little blond child was waving her gifts in the air showing everyone what she had recieved from Santa. That, ladies and gents, is what this all about, giving unselfishly to someone anonymously. At the end, there were still some gifts left over. Just so you know, they were given to other organizations that were suffering without anything for their clients for this holiday season. The Third Tradition would like to thank the many people who brought this event to where it is today, we couldn't do it without your hard work, cash and gift donations! We are only the messengers of the true Christmas spirt that all of you have provided to the kids in need. As with any of the galleries, feel free to copy the photos for your personal use.
